Community: Kubin : QLD’
Jeanon Baira was born on Thursday Island, grew up on Badu Island and moved to Kubin after studying Visual Arts at Cairns TAFE. This is where she first learnt printmaking. She is currently working at the IBIS store and enjoying her life fishing and gardening. ‘I also like drawing.’ she says.
‘I’m inspired by gardening culture, as this was part of my upbringing and I like to draw the hibiscus and rose. I like coming to the art centre where I get inspiration to continue to further my skills and develop my art practice.’
Jeanon has a Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
