Kukiau thonar is the best type of season in the Torres Strait, after the storms the seas smoothens, and winds drop this is what we call mutharoo. All the squids come ashore at Arkai Buthu. My siblings and I have a rivalry who can catch the most, then we fry them to have for lunch or dinner.
